BBVA sold its challenger brand Holvi the same week it pumped $ 150 million into its VC Propel Venture partners.

The Spanish bank bought Holvi, based in Finland, in 2016 and expanded its business to Germany, Austria and the UK. The latter withdrew last year due to uncertainties related to Brexit.
The customer base consists of self-employed, retailers, freelancers and small business owners.
